Watermarks in Lr Classic aren't applied until you export, so I'm not quite sure what you mean by "After I put a watermark onto my images then I export..."  Can you explain your process in more detail?
How are you adding the watermark?
What do your export settings look like?  Do you have Watermark checked?

In the Print module I can put in a watermark and, if I want, print the image. The printed image has the watermark. If i then "export" the image the resulting image does not have the watermark.  The watermark wasn't there. It was originally there so it can't have been a problem of "how' I put the watermark on.

I've actually contacted Adobe through their chat line and I think the issue is now resolved. Part of the solution, i think, is to rename the file. Without doing this the "export" menu doesn't appear. I think this is because I'd previously exported the file without the watermark. Lightroom does not seem to allow a further export using the same file/filename.

Any, not sure if any of this makes sense but Adobe seem to have resolved it for me.

Thanks for your interest.
