Using Bridge CC on a Win7 64bit Network

I have a home system for editing my photographs. It is Win7 64bit Adobe CC. I store my image files on a Network NAS and accessing them and moving them in Windows explorer is a brease. However, Bridge is so SLOW at doing tasks involving the images stored on the NAS. What can I do?
Someone said that Bridge CC isn't designed to work on a network - I can't believe this is true.
Thanks,
Charlotte

I'm frustrated too. I can sympathize Charlotte. My situation, Mac and Windows 7,8,10 small/med video and interactive biz, 60 people trying to manage images and videos. Bridge doesn't cut it for us either when dealing with our various NAS systems. Collaboration is pretty much non existent in Bridge. Here's to hoping they make it more network friendly.

We've found a lot of poorly optimized OS routines when trying to use Bridge over a network, and the slowdowns depend a lot on the OS version and protocol used for accessing the network volume. The Bridge team is working to improve network performance, but it takes a lot of time to work around the things that the OS should already be doing.

I'm mostly concerned about Apples 10.8, 10.10, and 10.11 OS version. The servers are mostly Mac 10.10 machines running server.

Yes, and MacOS has a lot of problems with network servers. Sometimes it runs much more smoothly if you don't use SMB protocol to connect to the servers.

Darn, and Apple is defaulting the new OSes to use SMB2. Guess I'll try AFP tomorrow. Thank Dr Cox :)

Using Bridge over the network on Mac?... Since apple servers now default to SMB, it's been less than stellar for Bridge use. Try connecting via AFP, I've had better luck, and the Adobe team seems to prefer it to.

It's not so much what we prefer, as what works.

Unfortunately, I introduced non-Windows issues in a Windows thread. If you are using Windows, ignore the SMB and AFP comments as they only apply to Mac users. Sorry, my bad.
