for 4+ years users want options to copy/paste text clips 'unlinked' to the source, so we can change text only in the copies, but retain all else ex. formatting/placement/duration/fades/wipes.  current default creates only linked copies so if you change text in one it changes the text in all copies.  dumb and substandard.  let us use 'shift' key to paste 'unlinked' or pop a dialog with option to unlink on paste.

all workarounds are super clumsy involved and unacceptable ex.  like forcing 1 track per title. 

when you try to copy text clips in sony vegas, it will offer a popup dialog with two options:  
one or more events you have chosen to paste contains generated media.  what do you want to do?  create new copy of the source media (default) OR create a reference to the original media (alt).
