Lightroom CC: Use different layout for static view vs slideshow

I recently noticed that an update to Lightroom CC changed how slideshows are laid out. In the past, when someone looked at an album I shared, they saw the pictures in the compact grid view, but the slideshow was single-images.

Now, I can set the layout for a shared album to be either compact grid, normal grid, or single picture, and then this layout will be used for both the static view and the slideshow.

While it is nice to have options for the layout, I would very much prefer to keep using "single picture mode" for the slideshow and grid view for the static view, yet it seems that it's not possible to pick the layout individually for each mode.

In fact, I (and the friends I send my pictures to), only use the slideshow in paused mode, and only because that's the only way to get the pictures to full screen size.
