What is the fastest way to do an initial upload of photos to I paid for additonal storage (I like the fact that my tags are staying attached) and am using the online backup right from PSE9. It seems to be taking a long time. I have almost 4000 photos set to be synchronized. It took almost 4 hours to upload 500 photos. Is this normal? Any suggestions for a speedier upload? I anticipate getting my entire catalog of 19,000 photos backed up.

There isn't really a faster way of uploading files. Uploading information to the internet is always slower than downloading it. Also, this is an automatic process, and it will try to not interrupt your regular internet usage. So, you can help speed it along by not using the computer while it is uploading. Beyond that, again because this is automatic, you can control when files upload by loading them manually, but the manual process is slower because you have to choose the files you want to upload. No matter what methods you choose 19,000 files will probably take days to upload.

Hi Marie,
The upload speed is governed by your network babdwidth, So more the bandwitdth you have , the faster you will be able to upload files to Also, i would like to add that if you would like to upload files only when your system is idle then you can use the option " Backup/Sync only when idle". You will find this option on right clicking the sync icon (the grey safe-like icon) present in the system tray.
