Why isn't the album I organized with Elements 8, showing up on my URL after I have gone through all of the steps in PSE to share it? The tutorial available for this must be for Elements 7 because it doesn't resemble what I'm seeing on my screen. But according to this tutorial GS-27 by J. Kabili, I shouldn't have to log onto my photoshop.com account, upload photos from multiple folders & files and organize them for the second time before I can share them.

You don't have to log into Photoshop.com to upload images from Photoshop Elements. However, if you have not set up your albums to be shared, you will not be able to view them unless signed in.

In Photoshop Elements, here is how you will want things set up:

Or, you can log into Photoshop.com, and make your settings look like this:

Of course, the options to allow printing and downloading are optional.

Have you been able to upload in the past?

In the video Jan is already logged in with her Adobe ID (the link between Photoshop Elements and Photoshop.com).

If you look under Edit>Preferences, do you see Backup/Synchronization?

This is the first time I have tried to share photos so, no, I have not ever uploaded an album successfully. In Elements 8 Organizer, I looked under Edit>Preferences and yes, I do see Backup/Synchronization. When I click on it, I just hear a "ping" sound and nothing happens.

That ping is a default error sound from the OS. Sounds like something is blocking PSE's ability to communicate with the resources it requires to share images. Try again after disabling your antivirus and other security software.

Brett: I don't have antivirus software but I disabled my firewall etc. I still got the "ping" which I also get even when I am just opening Elements Organizer but my album did upload (in duplicate) so I guess that solved the problem. Thank you. Sharon

I have tried to upload an album I created in Elements. When I get to the point of sharing it, the photoshop.com option is grayed out. I have an account with photoshop.com The program said to drag individual items and I did. I couldn't find the option to drag the whole album for upload.
Please advise.

Hello Kris,

When you launch Photoshop Elements, do you see an option to log in at the bottom of the Welcome Screen, or at the top of the Editor and Organizer? If not, my guess is that you reside outside the U.S. The option of sharing to Photoshop.com is currently only available to those in the U.S. (this is the only reason I am aware of that the option would be grayed out).

You do not drag Albums anywhere to have them uploaded. You can set the Album to Backup/Synchronize from the Album properties (select the Album and click the edit button at the top of the panel, it looks like a pencil on a blue square) and from the Backup/Synchronize preferences (under the Edit menu). After that, the upload is automatic.

Hi Kris,

The photoshop.com option is grayed out when your current catalog is not marked for sync. Please try turning on sync for the catalog by going to Edit>Preferences>Backup/Synchronization and choose the option Backup/Synchronize this catalog. Hope this helps. Thanks.
