Hi, I've been using PhotoShop 7 and I want to put PhotoShop elements 12 on my Windows 8.1 device. I have a backup from 7 and want to migrate that into 12 (elements). Will this work fairly smoothly. Also, if I try Elements 12 and do not like it, is there any way to import my elements 7 pictures with all of the comments and other data attached?

Do you migrate from and old computer to a new one with Windows 8?
See the correct way to do this:

The restore process from a full backup made in the Organizer is smooth enough. If you install the PSE12 trial in the new computer, the restore process implies two automatic steps : the restore, then the catalog conversion to the PSE12 format.
If you don't like PSE12, you can deactivate your PSE7 on the other computer, install and activate it on the new one, and restore from the same backup.

Can I install the PSE7 on my Windows 8.1 PC? If so, I'd just as soon do that for now and try the PSE12 at a later date.
