Upgrade from CS6 to CS6 extended not allowed anymore?!

Can you upgrade from CS6 to CS6 extended? If yes how? (only upgrading from CS5 and CS5 extended are shown on the Adobe web site product page). If no why not? It makes no sense to me that owners of the most recent version of CS6 standard would be penalized compared to owners that are one version back. When I called, Adobe Customer Support only suggested the Creative Cloud as an alternative yet there are very good business reasons why the Creative Cloud does not and will not work for all customers. It was suggested by the Adobe Customer Support individual (not officially) that this was an effort on Adobe's part to move another segment of customers to the Adobe Cloud. That does not make sense to me either as upgrades are allowed for one version back. This this seems as a oversight as opposed to a good Adobe business strategy. Again, if upgrading from CS6 standard to CS6 extended is no longer allowed, please provide a reason as to why as opposed to just a yes or no answer. Thanks in advance for your response.
