Elements 12: Updated the other day and now I am unable to open my NEF files into ACR. I never had the problem prior to the update.

I updated my Photoshop Elements 12 software the other day. I tried to open a NEF file off of my card and received the following message: "Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw. Please visit the Camera Raw help documentation for additional information."

I need help ASAP, I am in the middle of a class!

Did you get a new camera? What camera model are the files from?

What OS are you on?

Can you confirm which version of Camera Raw Elements says is installed?

No, I did not get a new camera. It is a Nikon D 5300.

I am using Windows 7 Professional.

Version 8.0.0.137

Camera Raw 8.3 is required for that camera. Have you tried selecting Help>Updates... again. Are there any pending updates?

Ok, where can I download 8.3?

When I go into the Help menu "Updates" is gray. I can't even click on it. When I go into Help > Photoshop Elements Help I get the following error message "There was an error launching the default browser. You may need to re-install the application and the Help component."
