I cannot install upgrade Lightroom 4.4. Everything has been tried including downloading different times, turning off internet, firewall, anti-virus, defender etc etc before install. I made a post in Elements Village Lightroom section seeking help. After several responses the Admin of the site recommended my contacting someone on this site. Each attempt ends the same way - Error 1316 A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file c:\windows\installer\Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi - Then it goes through the process of removing the files it used during install. Always the same message and result no matter how many downloads or attempts. My system:

Hi Jerry,

I haven't seen this problem myself, but it looks like the poster on this forum found a solution that might work for you.

Not the same problem since my 4.3 works fine after 4.4 rolls back its failed install.

It was interesting to see that 4.4 does establish a different path than 4.3 when installing. So just in case the new path vs the old path was a problem in one of my many attempts to update to 4.4 I changed the default install directory to where 4.3 was installed (which was the default install location that 4.3 used). Still would not complete the install.

The solution has to be a routine in the installer 4.4 uses that permits the installation to do everything but finalize the install. As you can see from the screen capture it appears almost installed before it fails. Of course since I have never seen 4.4 complete an install I cannot say if the install was close to completing or if another screen would open after the one that 4.4 fails on.

Thanks for info. Hope I don't have to do a windows restore to update to 4.4 because I have several software installs that require a deactivation to insure the number of installs of the programs have is 2. Which usually means contacting the vendor and getting help resetting the activation's.

My Lightroom did not start with 4.3 and has in the past done the updating to get to 4.3 just fine.

Thanks again for the suggestion.
