Lightroom 7.2: No longer able to click between photos inside the develop module

After upgrading from Lightroom 7.1 to 7.2, I was no longer able to click between photos inside the develop module.  I would select a photo from the film strip and the bottom. Then click my right arrow on the keyboard to advance to the next image.  The next image would be selected, but it would not load in the main view above the film strip.  I would be forced to close and reopen lightroom and reselect the image to view it.  Also when I relaunched lightroom, it wouldn't automatically select my last viewed image (inside most recent imports). Instead, the 1st image in my library would be selected.

Also, I would try to copy/paste settings in the develop module and that also wasn't working and it was ultra slow when bringing up the copy dialog box.

Also, I was unable to create tags for my images. The Keywords Tags field reported "working..."

Overall everything was flakey and slow.  I reverted to 7.1 and everything works fine.

Running on a 2011 i7 iMac with Mac OS 10.11.6. 12GB ram.

My Lightroom catalog has 80,000 photos

See if you can pause the Lr mobile sync from the upper-left identity plate area, and restart Lightroom. Report and see if it is better after doing this.

It's a good suggestion.  For now, I am sticking with 7.1.  If I reinstall 7.2, I will try that.

Simon, I went ahead and reinstalled the 7.2 version.  While it seemed to be more stable after being reinstalled, I still had trouble.  I went ahead and paused the LR mobile sync and it didn't seem to help.  The most recent issue is that changing from a filtered view (like 5 stars) takes a very long time to load. The screen changes to "loading". For a small folder, it did eventually load after about 5 minutes.  For my Published Services directories (like for Flickr with 5000 items inside), it never seemed to display any content.  It just reported Loading...

I didn't get a chance to test the import of any new photos to see how that performed.

Did you relaunch Lr after pausing the sync? Here is an official KB doc that might be helpful https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/issues-lightroom-classic-7-2.html.
