Unrecognised destination

When saving a file I did not notice that it was being saved to an unknown destination that us not associated with my computer. The destination consists of a string of characters. How do I delete this location? It does not appear anywhere on my computer so it must have accessed my computer via the cloud. I would like to back up my files but am worried that this link will also get copied across.

Which product are you using?
Which version?
Which OS version?

You cannot save to a destination not associated with your computer -- you have to save to a volume that is mounted and available on your computer, even if that is a cloud service connection.

MacBook Pro
10.9.5 OSX Maverick

I am new to PS and am not familiar with 'volumes'. The files I mentioned are Volumes e.g. Volumes/.../DOgWQB...../IMG. and Volumes/ehjcqvPTF....../IMG.

Each string of letters is quite long and I was suspicious because I have not come across them before.

Please briefly explain what Volumes are, where they are stored and what ,if anything, the letters relate to.

Thanks for your help.

That is the full path to the file, and the volume names are randomized letters for some reason.

Each drive mounted on your system is a volume, including network servers.
