ELEMENTS 14 - Uninstall and Reinstall due to computer problem

After installing Photoshop Elements 14 on my new computer, I discovered a printer problem. Asus says I need to reset the computer to its initial state, and then re-install all my programs.
I'm concerned that I will have to use my second and last installation to complete this fix, leaving me with no installations for a recurrence of this kind of problem, or to use on my laptop.
When uninstalling, from one computer, does Adobe have a way of recognizing that I have this licence to use on the re-installation, or on another computer?

No, because you are activating on the same system - it should recognize that.

But printer problems shouldn't need to reset the entire system -- just uninstall and reinstall the printer driver (unless your OS install has been messed up by malware or a "system cleaner" utility).

Thanks Chris,

Thanks for the observation that a printer problem should not require wiping everything clean.

I'm going to wait until Monday, then call Asus back; perhaps they'll have some deeper-skilled techs who can offer some help other than the 'nuclear option' that the tech offered today.
