Today I noticed that I cant add text to any picture. that's the first time it happened to me
when I write anything all that appears is a straight line that becomes a little bit thicker when I write more
I downloaded some new fonts from the internet about 2 weeks ago, but nothing happened and I used photoshop normally...until today

any ideas??
Note: I tried multiple fonts and sizes and it didn't work

Which product are you using?
Which version?
Which OS version?

First thing to do: check the settings in the character and paragraph panels.
Next, try resetting the text tool.
If that doesn't work, try resetting all of Photoshop's preferences.

Also, if you did install a number of fonts, it is possible that one or more of them is bogus. We've certainly seen that before.

The first thing I would do is follow Chris' suggestion.

Then, remove the recent fonts and trash PS's preferences.

If that doesn't solve the problem, clear the font cache using step #6 of the following link.

This should fix things. If not, please let us know!

Thanks!

I changed the settings in the character and paragraph panels, it didn't work
but then I removed all new fonts and tried again several times and it worked

Thanks for everything
