Photoshop Elements 10: Unable to reconnect files

I’m using PSE 10.0 and have all my photos stored on a NAS which works great.
Some days ago I made a major upgrade to the NAS. After the upgrade the directory structure is slightly different on the NAS and that will make PSE Organizer unable to find my files.

However all my 15.000 files are not indicated as missing files. They are by the Organizer considered to be offline-files on a drive that is not connected. That makes it impossible for me to reconnect them using “Archive | Reconnect” – because according to the organizer there are no missing files.

How should I be able to reconnect them again? I must be done in some automatic way because reconnecting every single file manually will take me months to do.

It depends on the new NAS share name being used, I'm thinking. (Just like pregnancy, there's no such thing as a "slightly" different directory structure. It is different.)

Unless someone more knowlegeable about using network drives in PSE jumps in, my inclination would be to get the current network share name to match the previous one.

I have tried to follow your advice and add a networks share with the same name as before, however that was not easy to do. With my NAS it could not be done with the ordinary tools available. :(

I would like to know if there are any tools available with in PSE that makes it possible to simply search through the databse and replace the invalid path with the new path? Is there a such tool available inside PSE (or is there a stand-alone-tool available for that task)?

As always, should you or your Impossible Mission data become damaged, the Secretary will disavow any knowlege of your actions. Good Luck, Anders!
