Unable to startup Lightroom CC

I have the trial version of Lightroom CC installed and was working fine. However , I now try to open it and get the following message....."The Lightroom catalog named “Lightroom 2 Catalog-2-2-2” cannot be opened because another application already has it opened.
Quit the other copy of Lightroom before trying to launch."
My original version 3 is closed so I am unable to work out what is happening. I have an IMAC. Can anyone help as I am unable to access the program.
Regards
Colin

It sounds like you had an abnormal shutdown and left a LOCK file hanging.

Go to the folder where your Lightroom catalog resides. There, you will find a file that is named "yourcatalogname".LOCK. Delete this Lock file and Lightroom should open. The Lock file is designed to prevent multiple instances of Lightroom from accessing the same catalog. Sometimes - especially after a crash or abnormal shutdown it doesn't get cleaned up.
