I am using PSE12 on an iMac OS Yosemite (10.10.3).
I have used this for over 18 months with no issues. Today it has started to prevent me from saving edits and new versions of existing images telling me "Could not save as "..." because write access is not granted."
Therese are no other users on my machine and it is not connected to any servers.
I have not made any changes to settings on my machine.
i have uninstalled PSE and reinstalled it to no effect.

Check the folder permissions where you are trying to save.

And make sure that no other applications are using that folder or file. That includes the Finder - make sure you aren't showing thumbnails for the directory while trying to save to it, because of some bugs in the Finder thumbnail code that Apple is still working to solve.

Thanks very much for your response.
I was able to identify a backup hard drive as the source of my woes.
Thanks to your input I am now happily editing again (solution was to reimport pics into Lightroom from the hard drive that had read only access).
Also I have extended my knowledge a little more, both relating to Photoshop / Lightroom and also generic computing issues.
Once again, thanks.
