I used to edit mock ups quick and easily, I knew the process well. I try now and after editing the
'Your logo here' layer, replacing the logo with my own, I go to 'save' and it tells me that it cant save file because the file is already being used or is open.. i've made sure the image isnt open anywhere else but I cant avoid this error! Please help! I can't edit any mock ups at all as things are now. I'm running PS CC 2018, Win10.

Hi Josh,

Thanks for the report and for the details. What version of Photoshop are you running? Help > System Info (top line).

Regards,
Hannah

Hi Josh,

So you're on 19.0.1, the release before the current 19.1, released 1/22/18. Did you decide not to update deliberately? People have their reasons for staying on an older release, so I just want to check.

So before we go further I'm just going to see if your situation is a fluke or reproduces:

1) click File > Save As and choose another name -- if you STILL cannot save, then make sure you still have space on your hard drive for a file of that size
2) once the file is saved, close Photoshop and all the other apps on your machine
3) reboot the computer
4) relaunch Photoshop and make sure the original file is working again

If happens again can I get some more details.

1. What is the size of the file you're working with?
2. A screenshot of the history panel from the time that you open the file until you get that error
3. A screenshot of the error

Thanks!
Hannah

holy crap.. i think i made a bad situation way worse! i tried the update, it failed and gave this error.

'FATAL: Fatal Error '116' occurred while download
FATAL: Fatal Error '116' occurred while download
FATAL: Error occurred in download of package (Name: AdobePhotoshop19-Core_x64 Version: 19.1). Error code: '116'
ERROR: Failed to delete file: 'C:\Users\Maximus\AppData\Local\Temp\ETRD20D.tmp\AdobePhotoshop19-Core_x64.zip.aamdownload.aamd' LastError:32
WARN: C:\Users\Maximus\AppData\Local\Temp\ETRD20D.tmp\AdobePhotoshop19-Core_x64.zip.aamdownload.aamd'

so like the brilliant guy i pretend to be i decide, i'll just uninstall it, reboot, reinstall, tada..

i load back up, one fail after another.. each time with the same type error but a diff ETR***.tmp
folder/file failing to delete.. so I go and hunt them down.. take them all out (cut and paste elsewhere to be safe) ... well when it starts to install i watched that temp dir, these ETR dirs are being made as it installs, they delete, another appears, it keeps installing.. right up until it fails with the same type of ETR****.tmp error! Now i'm Photoshop less and up the creek!!!

I have an I7, GTX 970, 2TB HD, Win10.. thats always worked fine with all Adobe suite :\

please help?
