Photoshop: Typing a font name into the character palette - Selection gets hung up on fonts with two capital letters that begin the font name

Example:

I want to change the font of a line of type from "Arial" to "Vanilla".

Normal steps:

Open caracter palette > click into font name field > type in "Vanilla" > hit return or click away from palette

Issue:

When typing in the new font name "Vanilla", the field immediately gets hung up on the font "VAG Rounded" because of the capital letters.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? I'm sure some have, I just want to know if there is any other way to get around this besides deleting the font from the system. It gets very frustrating when changing many fonts in a document.

Side note: It also gets hung up on lowercase letters (ex: searching for "Didot" the field gets caught on "d'Spenser")

Howdy Adam,

I'm sorry, but I can't seem to replicate this on either Windows or Mac. Admittedly, I'm using different fonts, but even in the case of, for instance, PT Sans or STFangsong (Mac) or SF Shai and SF Cartoonist Hand (Win), I'm not seeing a problem. What OS are you running? Any additional font support or applications? How many fonts do you have on your system?

I'd like to help, but I'm going to need more info.

Thanks,
David

Totally forgot about this thread. But everything is fine now that CC has Typekit integration and all-new font organization within the character palette.
