With the Photoshop 2020 update, I can no longer select type, then change the color via the color swatch palette. Only the color picker itself works, or the Foreground/Background colors in the toolbar. Is this intentional or a bug?

Howdy Lookatlao,

I'm not seeing this on either Windows10 or Mac 10.15.  On both platforms, I can recolor text layers via the Swatches palette, both as entire layers and as runs of text.

Would you mind rebooting and trying again?  What are you exact steps?

Thanks,
David

Interesting, I think I figured this out. It might be that I just had a very old bad habit. Typically I would select the text or layer, then click the the color box along the top toolbar which activates the eyedropper. From there I would click on the swatch palette color to change the color. That no longer works on the swatch palette (but still works everywhere else as intended). Skipping that middle step of clicking the top color bar and going straight to the swatch palette does work. This is more effecient, so I'll start doing that!

Thanks for your help!
