Lightroom: Ability to turn off auto-advance on import when tethering

When you tether or auto-import using a watch folder, you can't rate the photo or make adjustments, because LR automatically jumps to the newest imported photo.
In the field, my photo tech is trying to rate and tweak images, and boom, a new photo appears and kicks him off his desired image.
I do realize this stops when you put the photos into a collection, but we're working fast and should only need to work from one source.
Another way to handle it would be to allow the user to choose a collection to put the photos into. And from there, have a setting for auto-advance to newest arriving image or now.

We're using a CamRanger workflow and it's *almost* perfect into LR, if we could iron out little bugs like this.

Thanks!

Hi Ken, in the mean time is there any solution to your discribed problem above? I ́m having the same issue during photoshootings with my assistant who flags or lables pictures an then sets filters.

It works pretty well using this plug-in: Folder Watch: http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies/folder-watch#tether

That lets you put the photos directly into a project, which then doesn't have to auto-advance.
That's our laptop system now.

The plug-in has a free trial and it's expensive (or is pay what you want, I believe).

Hi Ken, I installed the plug-in and it imports the photos to lightroom. But it shows the same problem with filters. If I flag or lable photos and then filter these to green for example everything is fine until new photos arrive. If so it resets the filter to none. What am I doing wrong?
