I have tried *everything* to make Lightroom actually do what it was advertised to do. I have over 200 scanned images to process. EACH image needs considerable *healing and *cloning correction. EACH time I use the LR Healing and Clone brushes, LR slooooows to a crawl. I have called tech support twice (serial # 810346506407301055) Both times the issue was a corrupted catalog, so I was led to start a new catalog. Since then, I replaced catalog again, do to same problem. The slowdown happens EACH AND EVERY time I process a new image. (I have a brand new Macbook. OX5 10.7.4 2.2 GHz 4 GB Mem) (My LR previews and import settings are set for max speed. ) I resorted to many options for spotting before taking images into LR. My last attempt to solve this is: I resorted iPhoto's inferior spot removal for most of the cleaning, --then saved image onto desktop --then imported into LR. Again, when I do the remaining spotting in LR ( iPhoto cannot do ALL of it) LR *still slooooows to a crawl. I mean, it takes 15-20 seconds for each and every action to complete--even hovering over navigation, or zooming.) I was impressed with LR overall, but this flaw is intolerable. I am a highly disappointed customer, --and no, I bought Lightroom based upon its advertised effectiveness for basic photo editing for photographers--again no, I'm not interested in purchasing Photoshop. Thank you, but I bought Lightroom because of its promised effectiveness for photo editing. I am not a graphic designer. I understand from the online threads that LR 4 is no better, and possibly even slower than LR 3. Adobe has a real problem, many photographers are reporting the same issue all over the net. Yet, there is no helpful or transparent answer to be found from Adobe. This is unacceptable. I need a true solution and have not received it, so please do not ask me to call tech support for a third time, only to be led through the same process a third time. Thank you. Barbara
