- I am creating this new thread because the previous one I found was updated 8 months ago and a solution hasn't been offered.
- Previous thread was not clear on what the problem is.

The transfer brush setting for the eraser tool is not being disabled when you un-check the box, or even when you disable the pen pressure option.
This seems to only happen while using the eraser tool, it shows normal on the brush tool.

(Left: How it should look /work when you un-check the transfer box; Right: What it looks like when you un-check the transfer box while on the eraser tool.)
Notes: It's not only a preview error, eraser tool also fails to follow the command and transparency is still applied while using the eraser.

I know what's going on here. I've been bitten by this before too.  There is an setting in the tool options bar (button next to Opacity) that puts you into that state, essentially overriding the Brush Settings.  If you disable it, you'll see all the Transfer options grey out.  This can happen, i.e. that setting can become enabled, by selecting certain brush presets that have it enabled.  Hope that helps.
