Who thought it was a good idea to hijack one's mouse cursor and force it to the Sync options when Module Tips are activated? No other software does this and for a very good reason: It's SO ANNOYING.

How are you enabling these tips? I just turned on Module tips and Mobile tips (via Help>) and my cursor stayed where it was.

Hi Rikk, I had to re-install LR a couple of times (relating to OS) so when an old catalog is (re)opened, LR defaults to showing tooltips. I'm not exactly sure at what point this brief override happens, but my cursor gets hijacked and pulled over to the dropdown menu where 'sync', 'face detection', and 'address lookup' are found (under my Identity Plate).

This should only happen one time after installation. It should never happen a second time-unless you uninstall/reinstall or reset your preferences If it is otherwise, we need an exact set of steps so we can try and repeat the behavior.

Hi Rikk, I've discovered that little annoyance is when I click 'unsync with lr mobile' icon beside a collection's name.

jbedford,

I just tested on my Windows 10 machine .  Clicking the unsync icon beside the synced collection name does not show the behavior you are describing.  When I click it I get a warning dialog that I am unsyncing (which I dismiss with the [Enter] key., the icon stays right next to the collection which was unsynced.  60 seconds later it is still there.

is there any chance you could record a quick video showing the issue so we can see if there is something missing between your workflow and my test?

Thanks Rikk, I've uploaded a video illustrating what's happening. See attached link.

Thanks for the video. I cannot duplicate what you are seeing so I am going to recommend the following:
Sometimes weird behavior is corrected/cured by resetting the preferences.

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.
2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
4. Close Lightroom.
5. Restart Lightroom.

Does the behavior continue after resetting the preferences?
