Lightroom: Thumbnail badges needs more choices

LR 4, for Mac, in Grid view, compact cells, I have a choice to show thumbnail badges or not. I usually choose to not display, as they take up a lot of room on thumbs, and as every photo I have has exposure & other raw adjustments made, every photo would have plus/minus badge. But, more importantly, I like to see if an image has been cropped. To see that I have to turn on badges, which also shows develop icon. It would be very useful to have a preference in view options to choose to only see if icon for images that have been cropped, like you can with flags or unsaved metadata checkboxes.

Along the same line, when viewing an image in Library mode (loupe view) or Develop mode, it would also be useful to have that same icon visible in corner of image, as opposed to trying to remember, possibly going to Develop mode, then clicking on crop overlay to see if it is really cropped (and possibly loosing crop).
