Photoshop Elements: Three problems with PSE10 since moving to Windows 7

Just moved to Windows 7 and am having a few problems with PSE10

1. Any way to adjust the font and icon size in PSE10. No matter what I do to adjust it in Windows, PSE10 looks the same. I have a high res monitor and the text and icons look extremely small.

2. Increasing number of Broken thumbs in Organizer. Usually will show up ok and then gradually break as I scroll through. Will not always be able to "update thumbnail" but the photo will show up fine in Editor if I click to edit it (and the thumb usually reappears briefly before editor opens.)

3. Bigge issue: When I'm trying to re-save a file that I have changed and save it under the same name as before, I'm getting an error "Could not save due to a program error" If I do a "Save as" and give it a different name, it saves ok. This was never a problem running PSE10 on Windows XP.

People here have been super helpful in the past, so I'm hoping I may have success here again.

I may have solved two fo three issues above and one other strange issue I was having. I turned off Windows 7 User Action Control (in system and security). Once I rebooted and went into PSE Organizer, Broken links were not appearing, and the "ghost" files (files that I had deleted) were no longer showing up in Organizer. In addition, I was able to save a file correctly in PSE Editor. I decided to put UAC back on to see if the problem had re-emerged, and so far all is still well. Now if I can just figure out if there is any way to resize fonts and icons in PSE, I'd have a home run.

Hope this helps someone else having difficulties with PSE and Windows 7.

Hi Mark,

Unfortunately, Photoshop Elements doesn't have a way to scale the UI. They best bet is to set the resolution of your monitor lower so the pixels are bigger. Or use a monitor with larger pixels to begin with.

For a program that has beeen around as long as PSE has, this is an inexcusable flaw. I'm sure it would look great on my old CRT monitor, so why am I bothering using it with this 1080p monitor....what a dolt I am.
