Photoshop CC 2015: Three Clicks to View a Layer Mask

For some odd reason, if i want to view a disabled layer mask, it takes three clicks to do so...

Steps to repro:

1. Shift click a mask to disable

2. opt/alt click to view

2a. first click enables mask and turns on overlay (not what i asked for)

2b. second click disables overlay (again, not what i want)

3. third click finally goes to layer mask view!

What should happen:

1. Shift click a mask to disable

2. opt/alt click to view mask

Also, do you think it's finally time to make raster and vector masks behave the same when it comes to activating/deactivating?

Currently, if i deactivate a raster, just clicking on it will activate, but with vector, i have to shift click to activate. I would definitely prefer the vector behavior as i'm constantly having to re-deactivate my raster masks...

Hi Eartho, I'm trying to repro this and I'm not seeing the exact thing you're seeing but I am see a variation on it. It might help to have a video of what you're doing and seeing. (There might be differences in our document setup and workspace setup accounting for the differences)

Thanks for taking the time to look at this, Jeffrey. Fortunately, it looks like this and another long-standing issue i reported with layer masks has been fixed!

I do still wish that raster masks behaved the same as vector... all too often i want to select the raster mask without toggling its state. With vector masks, the only way to enable a disabled mask is to shift-click, but with raster, one only needs to click.

Thanks again.

Ok. Going to mark this one solved (For the original issue). Let me look at the raster vs vector activation issue. Might be something tricky to change (based on legacy action/support or other reasons).

Re-enable vector layer mask with single click would be nice. :-)
