Lightroom: Images processed in SilverEfex Pro 2 when edited again in LR 4.1

I've got the blinkies again, when working in the develop module. I haven't them since I gave up my old Win XP Pro machine for an iMac last fall. I'm using LR4RC1 on a 27" iMac 2.93 GHz Intel Core i7 with 16GB RAM and MAC OS 10.7.3. I store my image files on an external HD but I didn't have this problem under LR 3 or 4.

This is really disturbing my work flow no end.

As I say, I had them back when but with your help the problem was solved....its just been a while and I don't remember what was done.

It's the triangles in the top of the Histogram.

Maybe we are talking about different blinkies.

What I am talking about: When I am working in the Develop module, moving sliders, the whole image / screen starts blinking.

Is the film strip open or not? Try hiding it. Are you full-screen or not? What happens if you change to one of the other window modes?

John, now that I've got my thinking cap back on and have reviewed some old posts on the subject, I see it is happening with images I have worked on in an external editor, SilverEfex Pro 2. When it happened to me before it was the same situation.

I am right clicking on an image in LR and using Edit In to get to SEP2. I make adjustments there and click Save and then when I am working on the now b&w image in LR is when I get the blinkies.

I have LR open full screen and have the film strip open but comes the dawn, it must be something in LR4RC1 that is not playing well with SEP2 and I'll now have to see if others are having this specific problem and if there is a fix yet.

Thanks for jumping in. Even if perhaps inadvertently you made me think and got me on what I think is the right trail.

Update: It's not just SilverEfexPro2.

I can right click on an image in LR 4.1 RC1 and use Edit In to get to PS 5.5 and when I save that image in PS and go back to LR and try to make more adjustments I get the blinkies, so it must not be the NIK software's fault.

Any further suggestions will be appreciated.

And parenthetically: Am I asking this in the right place? Do Adobe employees monitor this discussion group? Is this the right place for a bug report?

What is the difference between this group and http://forums.adobe.com/community/lig... which is where I've posted similar issues in the past?

Thanks for your help,
