I would love to be able to SAVE (right click) a collection as a new folder, keeping files as their original raw file. Or move original raw files from that collection to a new folder.
after doing my editing, making changes,whatever... say I want to keep selected images that are now part of collection, how ever many, perhaps from different folders, different drives.I just want them in one new folder. The original folder could then be deleted from system and each image within collection would be safe and secure in a new folder as that collection.

I don't use collections but I think you can already do this, albeit not in a completely straight-forward way. Select all the images you want to move, then right-click the folder you want to move them to and select the move selected images to this folder option.

They're different concepts - folders are on the hard drives, collections are virtual.

The warning that goes with Lee Jay's suggestion that is that they'll also move on the hard drive to the new location. You're obviously aware of that, but just in case newer users read this...

Victoria ,Dan,Thanks ,
My first reply I don't think went through.....I understand the files in a collection are just virtual copies, just place holders of the original raw files.I would like to tell LR that in this situation I want to move the original raw files that are being held as a collection, move them to a new folder and to then delete contents of that old folder of raw images that are not in collection. so basically a new folder(B) that was created containing the original raw files that were MOVED from folder(A). This Folder (A)has now only files that are not in collection, that will be deleted. and then the collection remains the same other then the new directions to new folder(B)

I told you how to do that, except for deleting the other images in the folders (which is not going to happen).

So to put Lee Jay's suggestion a different way, create a new folder, select the photos from the collection, and drag them to the folder (or use the Move command in the right-click menu), and the result you expect should occur.

You're unlikely to get a one-click solution to this one as merging the collections vs. folders concepts would confuse newer users (even further!) but miracles do happen.

Wouldn't confuse me! Bring this feature on! I'd also like to export my photos and keep the structure of my collections.
