The search window is slow to open up, leading to accidental keyboard commands firing if you start typing right away

When you open up the Search window it can take a while for it to show up, especially if it's the first time after Photoshop is started, so you sometimes end up activating keyboard shortcuts if you start typing too early.

I really, really like the search function and wish the actual window always opened instantly even if the results take a second to load, so you don't have to wait if you're a fast typer.

Hey John,

What OS are you running on?  System specs?  Which shortcuts are working -- most should require CMD/CTRL to activate...

Thanks,
David

Windows 10, Ryzen 7 1700, 16GB RAM, GTX 1060 6GB, Photoshop & scratch disk on an SSD. The issue is not with my PC, it is the same on every PC I've tried. Switching tools or going into fullscreen doesn't require CTRL, those are shortcuts as well.

You would expect to be able to start typing right after activating the search

Hi John,

The Search functionality uses HTML and on a really fast machine, you might be able to get in a single-key key-stroke before the window loads.  That part we're aware of and looking at other options for the future, but it should never take more than a fraction of a second to load.  Is that what you're seeing?

Thanks,
David
