Photoshop: The format PSD doesn't show up in the "open" window

I  use Photoshop CC 2018 (19.1.6).
Sometimes I try to open a psd file via File > Open on Photoshop.
Problem : the format PSD isn't listed (list at the bottom right of the "open" window) and the existing files I already created don't appear on screen.
If I want to find the format again via File > Open, I have to close and re-open Photoshop.

This isn't really annoying because I can open a file by dragging and droping it in Photoshop.
But I would like to know why it does that and how to avoid this.

I'm having a hard time following your steps. Any chance you could create a short video screen capture of what you're seeing?

I just realized I probably just made a mistake : instead of asking "all formats" I think I somehow asked photoshop to show me a specific one (like "FLA" which happens to be the first one on the list...).
Sorry I bothered you for that.
If I still have a problem, I will try to make a capture to make it clear.
Thank you anyway, have a nice day.
