"The clone stamp is not working correctly" could mean anything, including user error. You have to describe what 'not working' means (what  do you try, what happens), what version of Photoshop you use and what operating system.

well, I'm sorry to say I don't have the language to explain it but I'll try... you know how you "hover" the clone stamp over that part which you want to stamp... say a little red flower... I call this loading the stamp ... then when I actually apply the stamp in the desired location, all I get is a dark splotch. I've been using the clone stamp for a couple years... I know how to use it. I'm working with CC PS6. I tried resetting the default but it doesn't help.  I tried to upload a photo example but the photo space is awkward and tiny and it appears that you only get one chance to load the photo. I use Mac OS 10.... the latest version.

success! heres a pic of whats going on....

Could you post a screen shot of the entire screen that shows the Clone Stamp tool options as well as the layers panel and the layer that's selected?

If you go to Preferences > Performance...  and disable "Use Graphics Processor", restart Photoshop and open a new image, does it still happen?
