Photoshop 21: The brush stops brushing

With the newest version installed, I started using a brush I have used many times before.   If I switch to another tool then go back to the brush it frequently stops painting.  It moves around the screen as a blank but no color is produced.  The only way I have been able to stop this is to restart PS.  Sometimes this does not work and I have to reboot the computer.  IN 2019, this might happen every few weeks.   Yesterday with 2020 it happened at least five times during a four hour session.  The stamp tool works fine.

It may help if we could see yourPhotoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help > System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Looks like you've run into a Wacom bug. I you're on Photoshop 21.0.1 and Catalina, the brushes aren't working properly and sometimes disappear or trace lines. I think it goes with the reason why they changed the brush hotkeys , but I can't get any answer on the history behind that change. To get to the point : Wacom is aware of that bug, they are working on a fix. Until then, when you run into it, I suggest you open the system preferences, wacom tablet, make sure photoshop is selected as an application, click on the pen, and fidget with " customize" until  it's back. It's not a good fix. But it's all I have until they fix it.
