Hey,
My name is Josh, I am a young digital photographer. I have been taking photos for over 10 years, but 4 years ago I had decided to be a Digital Illustrator/ Manipulator. I started seeing how I can use images to tell stories about my life by manipulating them beyond imagination. I used this process as art therapy to help me heal from all I was going through. When I bought my first camera it was the Sony Nex 7, taking photos with it is truly amazing. It opened my eyes to a world only my mind had access to and it provided access for the public to enter this world of mines.

When I was 8 years old I was attacked by two pit bulls in Chicago, Illinois. They took 80% of my face that day, over the years I was being bullied by kids, adults and everyone else. People didn't like the way that I looked and would do rude things to me and hurt me. It was hard, I couldn't go anywhere without people judging me or being rude. I began to become suicidal as my high school peers pressured me into submission.

I learned how to use photoshop in a class, we learned the basics and we blended images together for small effects. I began to realize how that was my big break how I can use this process and expand on it. I spent countless hours watching photoshop tutorial, then I began to make my own image composites from multiple images. Making art pieces that were like insight into my life and how it is to be in my shoes. I won awards and go into a few small galleries, and I was truly amazed about how photoshop and a camera practically saved my life. It helped me create an imaginary world where I could understand and learn from myself; soon to find out that my art was helping others too. It's been 4 years since that day that changed my life for the better and I thank Sony and Adobe for having such resources so that people can use them in an endless amount of ways. My Sony Nex 7, we have had our ups and downs but I thank it every day for providing a life and a future for me. I thank photoshop every day for existing and showing me how it and my imagination is endless.

Thank You for giving me a second chance at life. Keep up the great work

It is refreshing, as a 58-year-old, to read of a young person who, in this day of “protectionism”, will step outside in courageousness (coined) to make a statement such as you did, and make something of your disability in pursuing your dreams in photography...

I myself, explaining my ENTIRE life (from being bullied myself through all 12 grades throughout my career as an accountant), have been only 1.5 yrs ago diagnosed with ASD (formerly named as aspergers) and some clinical depression, depending on the circumstance...

I will pray that, as you continue in your journeys through adulthood, God WILL use you, that you will see God as your strength and bulwark, and press you on in your endeavors!

Thank you so much, I just felt like they desired to know how much them having that software means to me. It brings light to my cloudy days. I'm sorry to hear about your conditions, I can just imagine how it feels. The world just can be so cruel to people but at least God is still with us.

I understand your sad story and that products of Adobe helped you to find your way in life, but in my opnion Adobe doesn't do anything for you or others, so there's nothing to thank them. They are another company to lead their buissness and earn money.

Adobe does some awesome work in the community especially around at-risk youth, I was a homeless gang member and they had a program where they taught me Design tools for free and gave me the skills to change my situation and I now have an awesome career because of that

Yes you maybe right. I wrote this expecting to not get a response but soo many people from  inside the company liked and commented on my post. It proves that they do have a heart even though they are a corp. company. I Hope that changes your perspective.
