Photoshop 13.0.1

There's a frustrating issue with text sizes in CS6 - the toolbar gives you different font size information depending on whether you have one text layer or multiple text layers selected.
This makes updating the font sizes of multiple text layers a clumsy experience.

A demonstration.
Below, each text layer contains characters that are all the same size (otherwise the toolbar wouldn't display the font size).

Notice the toolbar when one text layer is selected:

Font size is an even 70pt. This is correct.

Now notice the toolbar when two text layers are selected:

The font size
Font size is now incorrect. Since all characters in both "size" and "price" text layers have an actual font size of 70pt, why would the toolbar read "78.97pt" when they're simultaneously selected?

If I needed to change multiple text layers' font size I have to do so individually, because whatever font size value I give the toolbar while multiple text layers are selected gets re-calculated somehow.

The Character Panel has the same problem. Using it instead offers no improvement.

This issue exists no matter what unit settings "Type" is set to in preferences - pixels, points or millimeters.

I've already given web coders the wrong font sizes because I wasn't fully aware of this.

Is there a reason for this I'm not understanding?
