Photoshop: Text layers stuck editing after Esc or cmd+enter

Text layers can get stuck in an edit state to where hitting shortcuts like V or Z don't change the tools but instead are altering a text layer that no longer shows edits happening.

Meaning I'll be hitting V or Z or T or any tool shortcut but will actually be entering text into a previously selected text layer. The additional characters being added erroneously don't appear until that specific text layer again has a cursor in it. Resulting in the commands being unresponsive until that text layer is selected and Esc is hit. This issue is contained to one PSD; documents outside that can use the tool shortcuts without being stuck editing the text layer in the other document.

I've had this issue on three different installs of Photoshop (CS6 and CC) across two computers and two different Adobe IDs and two different plugin/settings sets

Hi Matt,

It sounds like Photoshop is stuck in a modal state. Can you send me the file? Even better, are you available for a screenshare over the internet so you can demo this problem for me? I'll follow up with an email.

Thanks,
David

Replied to your email. I'm able to reproduce it under specific conditions but I've had the issue outside those conditions. I'm free to screenshare for a minute whenever you've got some time.

Matt, are you still able to reproduce this with the current version of CC (2014.2.2)?

Matt's issue, the OP, should be working correctly in current versions of Photoshop. Idan, I see you've logged a separate issue - which I think is different from Matt's issue.
