Take me to the location on the map

Suggestion for LR Classic: With an image selected, it would be really helpful, if when I opened the Map tab it took me to the location of the image. As it is now, I have to find the image on the map. That can take a lot of scrolling!

Just click on the "map" badge on the image thumbnail in the filmstrip and it will switch to the the map module and center the location on the map.  Looks like a little square sign post.

Got it.  Many thanks...I had never even noticed those "badges" before.  Thanks for pointing them out.

If there are GPS coordinates available for the image, then it shows on the map. The selected photo shows yellow, the rest of the images in the filmstrip showing orange.

This is exactly what Dan Hartfort described and that was an answer you was looking for?

I'm sorry, Roelof, but I'm not clear what you're asking.  When you say "This is exactly what Dan..." said, are you referring to what you wrote, or what Dan wrote?  Are you questioning what I said to you? (that your answer wasn't what I was looking for...I'm happy to explain why if you want).

If you click a photo with coordinates and then switch to map two different things can happen

1. If the photo is "already" in the previous map view it will show the selected photo in light orange and any other photo in dark orange as Roelof said BUT the marker will not automatically be centered so Roelof's suggestion is valid.

2. If the photo in not "already" in the previous map view the marker will be centered when you switch to to map.

NOTE: Clicking on the badge will always center the marker.

In my LR 8.3 version, it automatically, when I click to go to the map moudle, it automatically positions the map on the active (most selected) image, if that image has GPS coordinates.  If it doesn't the map stays were it was previously.

I have v 8.3.1 and it does exactly what you describe!  Maybe it's been doing this for awhile and I never realized it?!  So cool and exactly what I was looking for.  Thanks!
