Syncing metadata

Is there currently any way to sync metadata / develop settings between files (basically what Syncomatic does)?

-----

The specific use case I have in mind is:
  1. Shoot in RAW+JPG
  2. Load JPGs onto LR Mobile on phone
  3. Edit JPGs in the field (flag, tag, rate, etc)
  4. JPGs sync to Cloud
  5. Back at computer, import RAWs into LR Classic
  6. Select all files (JPGs & RAWs alike), then click "Sync Metadata"
  7. All JPG data copies over to RAWs
This way you don't need to be shackled to the computer to edit your shots. You can do it anywhere from any mobile device and then sync the changes to the RAWs.

No, that is why Syncomatic exists.

Syncomatic hasn't been updated in 2 years. I was kinda hoping Lightroom might've added the feature somewhere along the way. Or might have it in the roadmap for a future update.

The plugin hasn't needed updating. It's tested against the latest version of LR and still does its job (which is wider than your mobile workflow).

As for Lightroom,  I don't expect it will gain similar features. If anything, Adobe has gone in a different direction from you -  importing raw files into LrMobile and syncing over ever -faster unlimited internet connections.

But thanks, I noticed that the change log refers to 2.23 in July 2016, but wasn't updated when I made 2.24 available.

I use LR CC when "Mobile" by this I mean that I import my RAW images while away from the base computer. Here I do all my edits and rating etc, but not keywords - Remember I am using LR CC. In that process I add them to an album (Collection in LR Classic). Then these will sync to the cloud etc and when I get to my Computer, in LR Classic, I can then review that collection (Album). Here I can move them to my HDD and into my normal file/directory structure and the edits are there. Image adjustments and ratings etc. After I can delete he collection, which removes them from the Surface/cloud, allowing me to be ready for the next shoot. When I say delete the collection in fact I just "unsync" it from the cloud from within LR Classic, here I can continue to view / edit the shoot as a whole if need be. Then filter on ratings and maybe add the god ones to a further collection to be synced, which can then be seen on any mobile device with LR CC.

I add keywords at this stage as we know no sync of keywords between Classic and LR (Soon Adobe?)

I do use a Surface rather than an iPad / iPhone for this as its easier (USB port and no adaptors) but other than storage on the local device (Which is why I think you are using JPEGs. This seems to work for me.  I import RAW files to LR CC (Not LR Mobile as it used to be, so maybe by using LR CC you will not need the use of Syncomatic) Having said that I haven't seen or used Syncomatic, but I will look at that now!.

The fundamental element of my ideal workflow is that it doesn't really on uploading RAWs in the field. I travel a lot and internet is often spotty for me; being able to upload JPGs remotely and then sync them to RAWs locally is essential.

Syncomatic is a good 3rd party solution, but it's no longer supported and it's only a matter of time before it stops working.

Why do you think Syncomatic is no longer supported? The author John Beardsworth still actively supports his plugins. (He replied to you above:

It certainly is still supported.
