Lightroom CC: Correcting Photos marked with "Sync Issues"

Sync Issues have popped up time and time again with Lightroom CC. This weekend I went out of state to photograph a wedding for a friend. My friend is of course paying me, but I charged time the cost of flying.
After taking the pictures and returning where I was staying, I decided to Import all my pictures into Lightroom, and while at it check facebook, check email, and other things on my laptop.
While at the airport I had some time so I decided to get a head start on editing the pictures, by picking and rejecting. I had a few that I wanted to share with my friend's (the client) dad. Doing show and trying to do to a Web Share. I found that the images didn't upload to the cloud, instead they were marked with a "Sync Issue" (found on the Lightroom web tool). Talking to a rep, they told me. "To fix this issues, and allow future syncs, you need to delete all the excising Sync Issues." Following the Reps suggestion, I did so.

This was a terrible idea, deleted the Sync Issues, didn't just remove the issues. IT DELETED ALL MY EDITING WORK ON MY LAPTOP. I found that hours I put into getting the images ready were gone.

Adobe; You are a great team of developers that have brought the world the best software for enjoying and creating graphics. You have brought up Photoshop, After Effects and much more.
But after all that. You have us, your customers, use a tool that has a issue.
I know what is happening, when every I have images uploading to the cloud, and the connection is interrupted, the image becomes a Sync Issue. WHY IS THIS NOT FIXED?!? I feel and believe you are your team would have the ability to fix an issue like this and save the users from loosing HOURS maybe Days of Editing work.
Please Review and fix!

Jonathan, I am sorry about your issue and the subsequent problems after contacting support.  Unfortunately I don't have enough information here to understand what is going on. 

It looks like you were using a Laptop to ingest the photos - were you uploading via the Desktop App or the Web client? If Desktop app, which version (Help>System Info...)

"To fix this issues, and allow future syncs, you need to delete all the excising Sync Issues."  From where did you do this? The Web or Lightroom Desktop app?
