There should be an option to sync the full sized files when synching from Classic to CC, not just a smaller preview

This has been requested many times, but it's probably not going to happen.

You can do that with LR CC desktop and then the mobile app. But it take a different subscription and every thing is uploaded to the clouds.

Yes, I have the 1TB standard plan. I just want to know why the uploads from Classic to the LRCC cloud can’t have the option to be the full sized images, only smaller previews. We can only upload full sized originals from LRCC.

It's probably more policy than because of technical limitations. Lightroom Classic is the desktop / local storage version, so uploading full size originals to the cloud isn't logical. That's Lightroom CC territory.

LR CC and LR Classic CC /w PS CC are not included in the same subscription model, AFAIK.
Even if they are it is only LR CC that uploads the full version of images. LR C CC is still restricted to smart Previews.

From what I read you have LR CC, for computers, and LR CC for mobile devices and it includes 1TB cloud storage for $9.99 a month or LR C CC + PS CC + LR CC for mobile devices and 20GBs cloud storage for $9.99 a month from the Photographer plan subscription.

Although you may be allowed to install LR CC for computers but you still only get 20GBs of cloud storage. That is unless you pony up more money for more storage space.

IMHO Adobe has really made this whole thing confusing.

I know Adobe probably won't ever do this but honestly it's the only thing keeping me from subscribing to their new plan. The ability to import via Classic--and therefore the ability to easily rename, convert to DNG, and backup my photos all in one go--is too important for me. Just as vital would be the ability to selectively choose which collections get stored in the cloud and which don't. If I come back from a shoot with 500 photos, at most I keep a tenth of that, maybe less. Why would I want to pay Adobe extra to store what otherwise I can store for free? Yes, I can delete them (and perhaps I should? I've been debating that more and more lately), but I like to be able to go back and sift through old shoots with a new eye from time to time. I've found some killer shots that I previously missed before because I was smart enough to keep the files around. So if anyone from Adobe is reading this decides they want to make more money from their customers, add full RAW backup to CC via Classic.

Either that or add feature parity to Lightroom CC vs Classic. Whichever comes first is when I open my wallet. And if you ever kill off Classic before CC is up to snuff I close my wallet to Adobe completely and jump ship.

/end rant.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Lightroom Classic: Sync original raw files to cloud storage.

I'm sure I'm the seven millionth person who has pointed this out, but for this suite of products to be fully usefull as a mobile workflow solution, it is an urgent and vital uprage required to enable Lightroom Classic CC to sync full RAW files to the creative cloud, so that the mobile version has these files to work with without having to double up on syncing and storage. This should be the absolute highest priority in any considered version development or upgrade.
