Photoshop: Sudden canvas jump from screen edge

I've been having this issue for a few years on many versions of Photoshop and many different machines and Mac OS versions. When on either of the full screen modes, if I'm doing any operation involving handles (transform, rectangle tool, etc) once the handle comes near the screen edge, the canvas will suddenly lurch away from the screen edge so quickly and drastically that my operation gets screwed up, and I have to start all over again. I can see why the canvas would move, so that the transform handle is still visible on screen, but it should do it gradually along with my mouse/pen motion, not in a sudden extreme shift. This doesn't happen every time, but quite often it does, and I can't figure out why. I believe there was a time when this didn't happen, maybe 4 years ago or more, so I'm not sure why it is happening now and has never been addressed.

Hi,
Could it be the Snap To options turned on? I had this problem and it drove me nuts until I tracked it down.. I'm pretty sure it was to do with this,

Hi rachalmers, thanks for the reply. I don't think it's snap related. I turn snap on and off a lot and never correlated the two. Annoyingly enough, right now I cannot get this problem to happen no matter what I do! Everything is working as it should, whereas normally I run into this all the time. I tried with and without Snap enabled, and it works fine either way. There must be something else that triggers it that is not enabled right now. I have no idea, but this is frustrating. Yesterday it was doing it every time.

If you can make a video (of the entire work area) to show what's happening, that would help.

Thanks Jeffrey. I will try that when I notice it happening again. What's a simple way to make a video of my screen? I've not done that before.
