Have downloaded Elements 14 from Mac app store. Running El Capitan. Unable to import photos using Get photos from files and folders. Elements hangs every time. In Folders view only Reveal in Finder is possible. Changes to folders this way is not tracked by Elements. Unable also to import my catalog from my windows Elements 7 despite converting & getting it out via a trial version of 14 as adviced. Even without import I can get by maybe. Now truly stuck. Is there a patch or something expected from Mac. Please help.

no real fix.  elements 14 does not play well with Mac el capitan.  adobe understands this.  if you can get elements 12, it appears to work well .. but all versions after that have been having problems.  know adobe is working on it.

Not completely familiar with Mac, I know your Mac is not strong enough to carry PSE14, as it could be 32 bit instead of 64.  By getting "stuck" it usually means your files cannot open and is trying to open but cannot make the trip since they are the wrong (32bit) data-packets and your computer is searching for a way to open them since it utilizes 64 bit data packets. -- Hense the last reply, it seems you need 32 bit PSE 12.  All of this means your OS and your PSE 7 is not compatible with PSE 14.  Also, you cannot transfer files from PSE 7 through email or file discs because PSE14 will not open earlier versions of your files.  You might consider an upgrade in your computer system.  As a former Microsoft network technician I only work on PC's but I know when an upgrade is needed on a  Mac.  Also consider buying a PC rather than a Mac.  Your "get" command is the same as "open" command on a PC, and your Command key is the same as a Control key.  All functions are the same.  A PC will get you Windows 10 which is even more stable. For either computer OS and PSE, good luck with that. Microsoft's motto a few years ago was "Stay Current".
