Photoshop 2019: Stroke is doing a fill

Just upgraded from Photoshop 2015.5 to 2019 and this is going to be a very L.O.N.G. day ...

I am trying to stroke a circle (selection) and instead of just getting a stroke, I'm getting a stroke with an transparent fill. I've never had so much trouble going from one version to another.

Thanks in advance ...

Hi Jill,

I can't repro offhand. We'd need more info. The state of the layers panel, the kind of document, color settings, etc. It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help > System Info... and copy/paste the text in a reply.

With or without Preserve Transparency enabled, I also don't see a problem. Layers panel can be a background layer, a base solid layer 0, or an empty layer above (to see the solid color underneath). I even tried it on a transparent Layer 0 no background layer. I'm running Mojave latest update with 20.0.4 —her post made me get the update. '-}

Howdy Jill,

Do you continue to have trouble here or was this a one-off issue that you encountered?  We're happy to help, but I think we need more information.

Well, maybe you're trying to stroke a selection which is smaller than 10px? Did you try a smaller setting for the stroke?

Why not use a shape layer and layer effects?
