Strange very intermittent overlays

I've currently got 2 images open in PS, both of the man in the black shirt.
However, this artifact from 2 previous files that I've edited and since saved and closed appeared over this picture of Chris.

I've had spurious graphical anomolies appear from time to time, but never with enough detail to see what they were from.
The graphical anomoly goes when I zoom in / out or paint /clone etc, but this time is very strange. This is the 1st indication of what the anomoly might be.

I've very recenty had the screen replaced on the iMac, and a 1TB SSD installed because Mojave was not playing with the hard drive.
I've returned the iMac for thorough testing by Apple Approved guys in Cape Town and they indicate no problem with the Graphics card / memory onboardĀ  / new screen etc.
iMac late 2015 / 32Gb 1867MHz DDR3 / AMD Radeon P9 2048GB graphics card
Photoshop 20.00
iMac is running at between 48oc and 68oc, and I've set the fans to kick in to flat out when any reported temp is above 70oc

Any thoughts?
