Is it possible to upload albums from Elements to store on photoshop.com without having them synchronize with elements? I have separate off-line storage for backup and would simply like to use photoshop.com to share albums for a short period of time and then delete them from photoshop.com but not delete them from Elements.

Hi Jeffry,

You can share an album from the Organizer by following these steps:

  1. In the Organize tab, select an album in the Albums panel, and click the Share icon. You can see the Album Details and the following tabs:

  2. Contents tab: You can add and remove media files through the Contents tab.

  3. Sharing tab: You can specify the required options for sharing and saving the album.

  4. Select Share To Photoshop.com and select Display In My Gallery.

  5. Type in a message in the Messages box, and click Add Contacts to add the people who can view your gallery.

  6. Under Allow Viewers To, select any of the following:

  7. Download Photos: Enables viewers to download photos from your online album. You can specify whether viewers can download the full-sized photo or a photo that’s been optimized for the web.

  8. Order Prints: Enables recipients to order photos from printing services partnered with Adobe.

If you do happen to use Backup/Synchronization from Elements to Photoshop.com, you can choose "When I Delete A File Online, Ask Before Deleting It From My Computer" in the Advanced Backup/Sync options. That way, you can delete files from your online account without deleting them from your computer as well.

I hope this helps.

Best,
Sara

I have to change my comment. Checking "When I delete a file online, ask before deleting it from my computer" did NOT work. The album was deleted from elements without asking for authorization.

Hi Jeffry,

By following the steps mentioned below, you can achieve this:
- Create a new album in Elements which contains all your files. While creating the file, check the Backup/Synchronization on.
- As soon as you create the album, you would see that it starts syncing the files online.
- When the syncing process is completed, share the album with the friends in Elements organizer itself or from www.photoshop.com.
- Now, in Elements, go to Edit->Preferences->Backup/Synchronization
- When you will open this option, you would find a lot of albums listed in Elements category and in Photoshop.com category.
- Turn off the sync of the album that you have just created.
- Now if you delete the album from photoshop.com or delete any file in that album, those files or the album would not get deleted from Elements.

Try these steps and post back if you have any problems.

Thanks.
