LIGHTROOM - Starting multiple task instances on multicore computer

Why doesn't Lightroom start multiple tasks for standard, 1:1 and smart previews when selected from the menu (or started after import) when the computer has multiple processors and/or cores? It would be very useful to have an option in preferences or a dialog when the task is starting that would allow starting multiple instances. Starting the same task multiple times in parallel is on my computer easily four times faster than waiting for a single task to do the same job. And while the task queue has 8 tasks in it, the computer and Lightroom itself is still fully responding.

I'd add the task queue to face region naming as well. Every time I approve a face or a group of faces, it takes very long time for the screen to update and Lightroom to respond at all. Why can't Lightroom mark the selected photos with hourglass, put the job in task queue and let the user continue tagging faces or whatever he's doing next.
