Stack based on content

Hi,

I really like the stacks in LR, very useful for panoramas, HDR or series of shots. Automatically stacking images based on time is already a good feature, but not always very reliable and without a live preview, it can be ... erratic. [Edit: just discovered the preview...]

Now that LR has some AI (Sensei), and anno 2019 (!) I would suggest a stacking option based on content. This way, it would be much easier to stack images for HDR or even multiple instances of the same image. There are many cases where the same scene is shot multiple times, being portraits, wildlife, landscapes.

(By the way, a sharpness assessment tool would also be welcome!)

I agree, but "content" should include EXIF data; images captured at different locations should not be stacked but pictures taken at the same location but different exposures should be.  Perhaps there should be an "autostack for HDR" option as well as an "autostack for panorama" and "autostack for focus stacking" options.

Agreed. They’re smart enough (and know Sensei) to figure out how to make it work.
Focus stacking... that’s also something big missing!
