Edit In - External Program - setting the preferences

Why on earth do I need to confirm the settings for my external edits each and every time? Can this not be set up as a preference. I always want a 300dpi image set either as a PSD or a Tiff (depending on the external editor I'm using) I shouldn't have to confirm this each time - it's simply a time consuming step that could be made quicker.

You should be able to add a custom Additional External Editor preset with those settings here: Preferences>External Editing...

Thx for ther reply Jeffrey - but you've missed the point of my post. You can set up an external editor - I know how to do that. However, EVERY time you choose to

Edit in

You get a dialogue box - asking you what settings you want to use. Once you've set these - why would you want to set them EVERY time again?

I often use Nik SilverEfex - I always want a 300dpi PSD file editing a copy of the original with LR settings. I don't see why I have to TELL the program that every time - it should be possible to set that as my preferences for SilverEfex and that's it. One step less process for the end user. You would have to have a separate preference for each external editor of course.
