Since last update Sorting by last comment doesn't work. It does nothing at all. And it is a huge problem for me since it's the way my clients select which photos they like. Now I must go photo by photo looking which one has a comment.

Any Help, any idea¿?

Click on the yellow comment icon next to your collection name and select 'Review Comments'. This should filter all of the images that have been commented on or liked to the top of your grid view.

I just tried sorting by Last Comment Time in my LR 7 (Classic), and it works properly.  When you say, "It does nothing at all", are you able to select Sort: Last Comment Time in the bottom toolbar?

It works in serveral collections but not in all of them. There are collections with comments that when I select sort last comment time. The pics stay the same order, I even change the A-Z Z-A order but they stay the same. So now I have to go one by one to check if they have comments. Those collections where the comment sorting doesn't work dont have the yellow icon on the collection list.

The comment function is seriously flawed.
  • the sort by comment time function doesn't work
  • the comment badges don't show - not even in black and white (but on a few images they do)
  • the review comment function does nothing

I can see the comments when selecting a single image, the "sort by" option is also there and can be selected, the review comments function is still in the menu but all of these just don't do anything.

So the "functions" still show up and are not visibly disabled. It's just that nothing is working correctly. If they are indeed disabled, at the least they should be greyed out!

I contacted support and received feedback, that "[...] the Comments option has been disabled in the recent updates by our engineering teams [...]"

The comment "functions" worked at some time in the past. It was still extremely lacking, but at least it was there. It should be getting BETTER! not worse.

And, since there is a LIKE button, why not give us the ability to filter for likes? Working with clients would be so much easier. It's a non-working feature - which is even more annoying than if it wouldn't have been there in the first place.

I just tested adding comments and likes in LR CC Web, and they show up in my LR 8.0 / Mac OS 10.13.6, with the yellow badges and Sort: Last Comment Time working.  I think there must be some bug that affects some configurations or uses and not others.

What Adobe Support told you, "the Comments option has been disabled in the recent updates by our engineering teams", is obviously incorrect. Unfortunately, Adobe Support has long had a reputation for saying anything to "solve" a customer's issue.

As a workaround, try the Any Comment plugin. It lets you filter, sort, and search comments and likes across multiple collections and publish services.  But it's not nearly as convenient as having a working feature built in to LR.
