Problem: There are a shortage of sort options on Adobe's new website:
How to sort by File Name? How to sort Manually? These are available in Adobe Bridge and on
Solution: Please add these Sort Options to
The addition of" Sort by File Name" and "Manual Sort" to Revel's Sort Choices is necessary because:
1) Some of us prepare Historical Albums or Family Albums. For example, I prepare Historical Albums for the Los Altos Hills and other cities in Silicon Valley, California, and the digitized old vintage photos MUST be sortable by file name for each Album to work properly. The Naming Protocol is that each photo's File Name begins with the YEAR OR DECADE each photo was taken, which makes the Historical Photos sortable by Era.
2) Additionally, the Manual Sort option will facilitate convenient sorting of future additions to each Historical Album.
3) Adobe Revel's Sort Options should match Adobe Bridge's Sort Options!
Let me know when this problem is solved.
Thank you.

Thanks for the observations - they are all very good.
You are not the first to make such a request and I'll add yours to the others.

Thanks so much for taking the time to let us know.

I concur.

I make wedding photo galleries, which are ordered to tell the story of the day. This order is neither oldest first, nor newest first. I use numbered filenames as a means to achieve this.

Unfortunately, Revel doesn't allow me to maintain this order. Bit of a shame. I'm going to have to use Flickr for now.

I have used Adobe programs for years and am usually quite satisfied.
So why doesn't Adobe Revel offer SORT and VIDEO features like other Adobe products?
For example, Adobe Bridge offers AN INTELLIGENT VARIETY OF SORT OPTIONS; even more amazing two or more SORT OPTIONS can be selected simultaneously in Adobe Bridge:
__ By Ascending Order (or Descending Order)
__ By File Name (Numerically)
__ By File Name (Alphabetically)
__ By Document Type
__ By Date Created
__ By Date File Modified
__ By File Size
__ By Dimensions
__ By Resolution
__ By Color Profile
__ By Rating
__ By Label
__ Manually
FIVE SORT OPTIONS have been most useful to me and I'm sure to other Adobe customers:
1. Ascending OR Descending Order,
2. By File Name Alphabetically
3. By File Name Numerically
4. By Date File Modified.
5. By Date File Created
Also, like many Photoshop fans, I process a lot of treasured Vintage Photos which are decades old; therefore, the date on which I've scanned or photographically reproduced these old photos has NOTHING to do with how they should be sorted! I'm sure other people have favorite SORT OPTIONS they want to see added to Revel.
In other words, we need the sort tools in order to tell the stories properly, and we need solutions, not promises, that "the Revel team is working on it." Adobe has far more experienced photographers and videographers they can turn to in order to solve these problems now.

Thanks for the suggestions. I agree! Adobe Revel is patronizing and doesn't give users credit for minimum intelligence.
